This is an introduction to energy, the various types, and how to use it. I will be including examples of how to use it in battle mostly, but outside of battle as well.
First to start off is to tell the types of energy. Spiritual and Physical are the two you hear about most of the time. Other types may be introduced, but those are the main two.
The first type of energy I will speak of is Spiritual energy, or Mana. Mana is the energy summoned from ones soul and used toward there bidding. Mana can be used in a various amount of ways, from constructing a fire ball to floating above the ground around a castle. Generally though, when you hear about Mana is when talk is diverted to battle. Used as an exterior energy more then anything, Mana can be channeled through runes, chants, or simple will power, depending on the amount used and the willpower of the being. Using this energy summoned, Mana can be the creator of any of the elements, water, fire, lightening, ice, earth, shadow and holy. Your basic elements will take on average only a minimal amount of energy, making it possible to do various attacks, possibly at one time, without the need to rest. Shadow and holy on the other hand, normally take a rather large amount of Mana, used for pure destruction, or healing attacks. It’s normal for one person to focus on one type of attacks, such as ice, to understand everything they need to know to make a legal attack with out getting themselves killed.
On a side note, the amount of Mana one has is based on there skill as a Role-player and there skill as a basic T1 fighter. Mana can also be summoned up through other ways, such as Mana sharing and such. And it should also be known that Mana leaves a trail for others who use Mana to follow, making sneak attacks and hiding nearly impossible. Mana is definitely one of the most common energy types used in role-play, and is absolutely the type one should know before going into a fight.
The next type of energy I will cover for now is Physical energy. This energy is summoned through a beings body. Physical energy, unlike mana, requires no soul, but can prove a little more difficult to handle for some. Physical energy breaks down to chakra, Chi and Ki or Qi. They all three work on the basic principle as ones life force, the energy that keeps a soul bound to its body.
Chakra can be used in an extreme number of ways, reference to using in battle Here. Chakra is your cross body energy, to be used in and outside of the body. When in battle, it would be used in high reference to the animated TV series "Naruto", but would be only based on the fighting, or Tie portion of the show. Chakra gives a being the ability to make physical moves that are generally impossible to average physics, increased strength, speed, and endurance. When one applies chakra on the molecular level, it would be even used as a shield just over the skin. Chakra can also be applied as pure energy outside the body, condensing the chakra along the outside of the body in aim to attack an opponent.
Ki is your exterior energy, reference Here . Gathered along the ends of limbs mostly, Ki can be used to charge energy in a blade or spherical shape at an enemy with the pure intentions of harming them, such as chakra, but tends to cause more damage to an opponent. Normally when Ki is used, its based on quick fired attacks with low density, but when idles, Ki energy can build and cause such destruction as the blowing of whole mountains apart. Useful when in a fix or if you want to annihilate your opponent with a final blow.
Ki and Chakra are both based on the physical limits of the body though, and they both themselves have limits. Should they be brought to zero, the body would sustain no hold over the soul of the being, and would become unstable, and die.
The last and final form of energy I will cover today is the absolute basic of all energy. Molecular energy. This is the type of energy one should know about at all times when using Physical or Spiritual energy. It should be understood that all things are moving and have energy, even at the atomic level with vibrating atoms, and that energy cannot be created, nor destroyed. If something is moving, it has kinetic energy, and if something is still, it has potential energy. You can use these energy types to your advantage to create special attacks and defenses, such as using Mana to stand in-between the molecules in the air, holding them still to freeze the air around them. Or taking Chakra or KI, and vaporizing an object to withdraw the water vapor from it.
It should also be known that even though these energies can effect anything in the standard plane, they cannot effect each other, the spiritual energy never effecting the physical and visa versa. They would have no reaction to each other but to phase through it as if it did not exist.
Chakra example
He would slide his hand to the ground, the sudden pulsation of chakra through his body rushing to the right arm, abling him to push his entire body with ease into the air, his left foot pointed toward the falling ball he had only moments ago popped into the air. The foot would land up on the balls surface, another surge of chakra moving, this time from his leg into the ball, hitting it so hard the ball would pop, but before the air expanded from it entierly, his foot would rocket the ball through the air, dissapearing into the sky.
Ki example
Lifting a hand up with speed, condensed chakra would gather into his palms, the lifted hand working as a bracer to knock away the rocketing pebbles at him. His hands would move very fast to catch all that was thrown at him, a simple smirk on his face, then the release of all the energy gathered, having stolen kinetic energy from the mass in the pebbles as well, the condensed spheres of Ki now jetting through the air, there heat so incredible the air itself would burn as they pass through it, small static disscharges seen as they progress at sub-sonic speeds toward his opponent. Should these spheres make there contact, they would then react with the sudden stop of force, exploding with the chemicly changes pebbles, the reaction like a two ton bomb, blowing his opponent into dust, the heat so great it would only vaporize them.
Mana example
His hands extended to either side of his body, palms flat to the air, a sudden gush of Mana would release from his body, creating that of a deep purple auora around him. The mana would then construct a bubble around him forcing the air out with the exception of small cracks toward the back of the bubble that would allow him to breath. Other then these crack though, his entire body would be covered by this Mana. With the sudden clasping of his fingers into fists, the Mana would then condense instantly, stopping all movement of the atoms in the bubble around him. This bubble of energy would proove to be the hardest object in the mortal plane, the stand-still molecules not providing the proper vibrations to allow an attack through to hurt him.
I hope in posting such definitions I can proove to increase the knowledge of the RP population, and would welcome any constructive criticism about this post.
