-=Personality=-
Fiona is known to be indiscriminate toward the majority of the situations presented to her but can grin at the most atrocious crimes. She is a sadist and a sociopath. She has an almost pathological attraction to pain and fear. She is a predator and reacts in that manner to such displays. The emotionally wounded and the traumatized attract her in a less-than healthy way. You should not expect her to express any remorse or guilt, simply because such emotions are beyond her comprehension. She is capable of committing heinous crimes without any indication of regret that could make any person's stomach writhe in revulsion.
Fiona is also mad.
This is a very important thing to remember when dealing with her. She has very little acquaintance with basic emotional drives and tends to use logic for everything. She works to an interesting sort of internal system which often makes sense only to herself. Her actions and reactions cannot be predicted or judged according to any pre-conceived notion. Mad, remember? Expecting her to behave according to societal mores or convention will leave you bruised and disappointed in her wake. Her dependence upon logic tends to make people think that she is indeed rational and reasonable. This is a bad trap to fall into. Aside from being logical, she is a realist and her view upon the world around her is frequently described as pessimistic.
She has an illogical animosity toward God. Humans fall into this resentment due to biblical references that they were created in God's image, aside from the injustice and grief that they have caused to her as a child and person. Religion is a sensitive subject to her and must be tread with caution unless risking provoking the violent vixen.
Fiona has serious trust issues. She reacts very badly to threats of any sort or attempted restrictions on her freedom of thought or movement. She has struggled very hard to gain the ground which allows her to move in 'normal' society, and threats to that freedom unhinge her a little. Because of her reluctance to trust those around her, currently Van Hienkel is the only individual she truly trusts. For Van, she will do almost literally anything.
As a side note, Fiona's speech tends to be precise and over-formal. She does not communicate well and this leads to misunderstandings. Her limited interaction with people has led to poor communication and social skills. Whereas normal friends my shove or punch one another in the arms, Fiona responds with violence, notoriously with a stab or telekinetic thrust. This is not because she has any ill-intentions but simply because violence is the only way she knows how to respond. So harmless jests can be taken literally simply because she is unable to recognize it as such and metaphors can be responded with confusion simply because she does not see the underlying meaning. Her inability to communicate properly has led to her isolation, and to her belief that no one understands her. Van realizes her dilemma and, as such, has learned to adapt and understand her more than anyone else.
Yet beyond the intense malice and animosity is the heart of an abandoned child few would find the light to see. She does have rare occasions where she displays naivety and innocent behavior, suggesting that she isn't as detached from her emotions or obdurate as one would originally be led to believe. Van is the only one who has been honored to see a softer side to Fiona, watching her develop and blossom into a proper woman as he nurtures the lost soul. He provides her with the security and structure she desperately needs and this has led to a deep, inseparable bond between them.
-=Background=-
[Under Construction]
Fiona had awoken to the harsh realities of life in the abandoned ruins of Nede at the age of thirteen. Sentimental values were foreign concepts in the barbaric environment. Chivalry and honor were non-existent. Everyone did what they had to to survive, and that included committing unspeakable acts of murder. The wretched and the despondent lined the neglected streets and alleyways while desperate eyes and malicious intentions watched for any unsuspecting victim with any indication of valuable possessions on them. Fiona had awoken without memories, lacking a name or a home, left with her life as her only possession other than the clothes on her body. She would quickly realize the hungry faces staring at her were not friends but foes. And that she herself was not like them.
Desolate and forlorn, each day became a matter of survival. Whether or not you would see the light of day due to starvation or the harsh environment or from your fellow man slitting your throat while you slept in order to plunder the very little belongings that you possessed, even if it was only a small loaf of bread or the clothes on your back. She had to learn quickly how to fend for her, driven by self-preservation. Killing came surprisingly easy to her and soon became second nature. She was also acutely aware of the powers she possessed. Everyone in the neighborhoods learned to leave the teenager to her solitude as she gained a bloody reputation, notorious for murdering individual simply on a whim. She was an abomination in their eyes. Fiona isolated herself from the prejudice eyes and discriminating minds, acquiring a bad habit of self-mutilation once realizing she experienced no pain and lacked appropriate emotional responses. It was a life of uncertainty and strife but she accepted it, for the truth was the world was a cruel and remorseless place and she knew nothing better.
This stoic female is laced in mystery due to her lost memories. Her history is obscured but what is known is that The Leaders salvaged what they found when they came across a forlorn teenager wandering aimlessly through the streets of Nede. Promised with a better life than she led then, she complied to their demands to join them. It became obvious she was suffering some form of mental deterioration, perhaps from a past trauma or a biological cause. It expressed itself in her sociopathic demeanor. But under the tight supervision of The Leaders, Fiona learned to hone her psionic powers and her combat skills. She excelled as an assassin and became an obedient servant for them. They provided her consistency, structure, and stability, finally bringing order to her chaotic world. But even they could not completely tame her, and she still proved to be unpredictable, becoming notorious for eliminating her own partners by accident or because they had annoyed her. Her latest partner had been Echo, who even he did not remain long by her side as he mysterious disappeared after The Leaders sensed possible treason and attempted to eliminate them. Though she could honestly testify that this time she had not accidentally killed her partner, or killed him at all.
Deserted by Echo and faced with The Leader's treachery, Fiona was faced with a dilemma while taking temporary residents in the forest another assassin had transported them to. With no companion and no authority to direct her, she was faced with a question; her purpose. A predicament she had wallowed over many lonely nights before The Leaders had found her. But left with nothing, one could only gain. From the depths of the forest, a man emerged that would change her life forever. He came known as The Barbarian Prince, though his name was Van Hienkel. He was unlike anyone she had ever come across before. He was laid-back, obnoxious yet kind-hearted and understanding. The boundless compassion he exuded was something she was not accustomed to, having been surrounded by violence and strict obedience for the majority of her life. Acts of violence and hostility toward him did not repel but instead attract him to her and this brought birth to confusion. She does not know how it happened but eventually, the man self-proclaimed himself her new companion. She did not know then but the man would not only be the catalyst to a series of important events for her, but become the person she would cherish above all others.
