Raze of the StormI. IdentityCurrent Alias: Raze of Storm
Race: Immortal.
Apparent Age: 30 years. (is really more like 27)
Actual Age: Who knows.
Location: Probably Aenied.
Position: Hopeless fighter, the Zero Destiny.
Occupation: Wielder of Illuminastra.
II. General AppearanceHair: Long, black
Eyes: None, used to be black, flex to red.
Skin:-Skin Tone: Light bronze.Tiger-striped with scars. His left arm is tattooed with the Horseman’s Rose..
Build:-Height: 6’4”
-Overall Build: Slim, slender and fit; built for speed and agility.
-Distinguishing Features: Completely blind but walks with an extremely dark aura.
IV. Special EquipmentFist of the Broken Gauntlet-One of a pair, Raze wears this flexible, dark brown gauntlet over his right hand. Although it appears little more than leather, it crackles with energy when in use, increasing Raze’s physical strength to high degrees.
Pestilence Armband-Made of the Blood of Seraphiel, Raze’s original physical form, this armband circles over his upper right arm. It appears to be a silvery metal substance with an odd black swirl shifting underneath the surface.
-Etched over the armband are archaic symbols, appearing to be some kind of Latin-like tongue. It has the symbol of pestilence, two snakes coiled over a winged sword, branded onto the surface.
Pestilence Signet Ring-Worn over his right ring finger and hidden by the gauntlet, this ring marks him as the Horseman of Pestilence. While it grants him this status it also imprisons him to it. He cannot take it off unless his leader wishes it, and if it does come off, it is not likely to return, and would take Raze’s power as Pestilence with it.
Accessories-Raze wears a locket on a piece of string over his neck. Square-shaped, it holds a picture of him and his twin brother in astonishingly good moods… however he never bothers to look at it any more than he bothers to take it off.
V. Primary Weapon(s)[/b]Illuminastra, Aeonblade of Transcendent Light-
Aura Breaker: Illuminastra’s basic power is the ability to “cut” the threads of magick, neutralizing such things as a spell when swung with a purpose. This ability is useless to anyone without the accompanying Transcendent Sight, the ability to “see” the threads in the first place, but as Raze has this sight, this is not a problem. Small spells are easy to disrupt; different types of magick are harder to impossible and require a greater amount of concentration. However, he does not need to be close to the range of the target; Illuminastra’s own disruptive aura stretches out to a certain length, keeping the wielder safe as it slices apart the thread.
-
Transcendent Oneness: With some amount of effort, Raze can transform for a few moments into a being of pure light, becoming incredibly fast, agile, and with astounding focus and reflex. In this constantly-moving form he is immune to all light attacks and has increased defense against darkness and other magick. A powerful blow can return him to his normal shape, but usually the form wears off quickly. Most useful for quick evasion.
-
Tower of Light: A staple defense move, walls of destructive, solid light fall down around Raze, tapering to a point much like a tower. These walls grow and spread outward, obliterating everything in their path. The longer they extend, the less effective it becomes, but at shorter distances it is deadly.
-
Mirror Distortion: The blade throws out transparent light which act as thousands of mirrors. Like the famous Room of Mirrors it distorts the land and confuses the sight, making things appear that do not exist. The mirrors are not solid and can be passed through, but the confusion lasts until the mirrors naturally fade.
-
Lunar Wave: White light is shot like blades from the sword. These swift, crescents hiss with power and are capable of cutting through the strongest metal, but their effect depends on the user and his skill in using the sword itself. They can either rage entirely out of control or be restrained to such a degree that they bend to a mere thought.
-
Silver Guard: The highest move of Illuminastra consists of the light of the sword taking on its own form, becoming reminiscent of the form of Transcendent Oneness. It streaks around Raze to form a shield of light that is constantly renewed and fortified with every turn. Focus is heightened and amplified.
-
Transcend: after enough use, the powers of the sword becomes the user’s powers, so that the sword is not even needed. However, this requires years of training and is likely to never occur, because the sword, like any weapon, is careful about who masters its true power.
AngelWing, Sinraph’s BladeCurved like a scimitar, the intricate AngelWing is a powerful sword of pure Light. Though not as strong as Illuminastra, it is far more of an offensive weapon, putting more effort into destructive blasts of light that scream of vengeance against the dark. Listed below are some, but not all of its capabilities. These are on the most basic level.-
Light Blast: From its blade, AngelWing fires a powerful blast of bright light, sometimes gold. It sears not just flesh but has enough force to break rock.
-
Blinding Light: When held up high, AngelWing burst with light, often serving to blind an opponent. When combined with Light Blast, it serves as a powerful attack of light and may also serve as a temporary shield, capable of withstanding many strong attacks despite its short lifespan.
-
Light Arc: By striking the blade against the ground, a beam of light fast as lightning rushes toward the enemy. It is dangerous more for its speed rather than its formidable attack power.
Noctem and Diem, Sinraph’s GunsGiven to him by his soul brother Sinraph, Raze is hesitant on using these vicious gun-like weapons, as he prefers using a sword despite his surreal aim. However, these fire not bullets but projectiles of dark magic, highly explosive and not likely to run out of ammo as he draws the power from his own soul.VI. Primary MagickLord of Darkness: Raze is gifted with the powers of the shadows and of darkness. He is supremely skilled in this area but is still learning how to master all it can do. Although his powers have been greatly diminished in the past he has learned to compensate by using these powers in ways he has never done before.
-
Shadow Flight: this gives Raze the power to fly, though he has no wings.
-
Shadow Walk: The power to teleport through shadows. When this move begins, Raze becomes impenetrable as he dissolves into shadow. He can also maintain this form to travel shorter distances and escape through prisons.
-
Dark Beam: a simple standard move that requires very little concentration, this is simply a beam of darkness fired at an opponent. Simple as it is, it can be very powerful and swift.
-
Dark Gate: Raze is able to open a portal to a sub-dimensional realm that sucks in physical moves and powers, in which they are held in suspended animation. He can reopen these and thus fire them straight back. It takes greater effort to open larger portals.
-
Shadow Armor: Raze learned this under the guidance of his father; he is able to form extremely strong shadow armor that covers the entirety of his body in black and red steel-like material. It is hard as diamond but is less able to hold off Light powers. He can also form weapons using this same maneuver. This gives him actual wings, so he can fly with these instead of using Shadow Flight.
-
Summon Shadow: based on illusion, Raze can form shapes out of shadows. In this he can form clones of himself that look exactly like him. They do not hold his magic or his sword, however, but attack with their own blades.
-
Infinity Vortex: based on Dark Gate, this surrounds the opponent with several portals, in which an attack is fired into and travels in an infinite round through each portal, with the enemy at its center. Extremely fast to execute and with minimal effort, the enemy could get hit twenty times before even realizing what happened.
-
Dark Star: he can use this only once on every opponent, and it takes great effort, but Raze can call on a massive storm of darkness to crush the enemy. It takes on the form of a burning pentagram raging from the sky. Almost impossible to dodge and, maintaining an ethereal countershape as well, teleportation would be relatively useless. Since it takes such great effort, however, Raze never intends to use it.
(Banned in MP battles.)-
Dark Salvation: a destructive, self-made, dark move that is not too unlike Dark Star. Raze unleashes a blast of darkness, often in times of desperation or extreme anger and/or stress.
-
Dark Transformation: in rare times, Raze can transform into any creature. The simpler and smaller it is, the easier it is to transform; likewise, the larger and more complex, the more concentration and effort it takes. Usually, Raze prefers a large, black wolf, a cobra or other type of snake, or, in times of need, a large red or black dragon of a size that simply depends on how much strength he is willing to put into it.
(Banned in MP battles.)Note: these are not just magic/elemental moves. For instance Dark Beam can damage you with dark energy but also break your bones if it rams into you hard enough. Likewise, weapons of shadow can damage you with darkness, but also cut you. They may be magic but are solid. -
RAY PASS: a red beam fires at the enemy, tracking the target down. It is incredibly fast and is unaffected by shields, armor, or any other covering. This move is among Raze’s most powerful and devastating moves, supremely dangerous. It is enough to make the bravest of souls sick. Since it is so incredibly dangerous, Raze will not use it unless he is either very angry or forced to use it.
-
Scrolls of the Hidden: Once revived by Usiel, the blue-winged “butterfly” (as Raze calls him), Raze now has the ability to hide his aura from anyone searching for him. While it does not make him physically invisible, it covers all other trace of him; scrying, mage-sigh, and anything else based on the aura proves useless at detecting him. The blue insignia of Usiel glows on both hands and feet as well as one large copy on his back when someone is searching for him (while hopelessly failing) and also glow when activated. While Raze finds it embarrassing to have anyone’s mark on him, he does appreciate what it does.
-
Dessolander’s Maelstrom: Learned by his lost and missing soul-brother Dessolander, Raze is able to focus his magical energy on the molecules and particles around a specific target. Once programmed to react to a specific condition, the particles drive into the target and implode.
(Banned in MP battles.)VII. BiographyLong ago, Raze was the leader of his people, known as the Broken, a race of outcast, repentant angels condemned, yet blessed, to live their lives on earth in a hidden and secluded valley. Most were content with this general peace, except for Raze himself. Lusting for power and driven to the edge by a hatred for his twin brother sharing half of his soul, Raze left the valley to wander the earth, stealing power by taking the lives of others.
It didn’t take Raze long to die by the hands of Socorro, a being much more powerful than him. However, Vmpyro, a master of shadows and darkness, revived him anew, and Raze soon came to regard Vmpyro as his “father”. His hunger for power, though, did not lessen, and combined with his newly gained shadow magic, his celestial essence became twisted and corrupt, turning him into the ten-winged Black Seraph. This corruption was driven further when he was given the Ring of Pestilence, which granted him the powers of such a name. At first, Raze was happy with this power, but soon came to hate what he had become; a disease of life itself. He began to spiral downward into a depression that manifested itself into a near suicidal urge to find death through means of falling in battle. It was made worse when he married, only to be betrayed and forced to kill his children, thus driving him way over the edge.
Things changed when Raze’s twin brother Metatroniel Storm died. Realizing that as much as Storm had always been his rival and polar opposite, Raze could not deny the bond of blood and, more importantly, soul. Traversing to the Crossroads with his close and possibly only friend, Sinraph, he discovered a way to resurrect his brother… by giving up all of his celestial and angelic powers. In other words, any powers that had been initially his were to be stripped. In the end, Raze agreed to these terms, losing everything except his powers of darkness also aging from an appearance of 21 to 27. He would now age, though extremely slowly; the next best thing to being immortal but mortal nevertheless. This revelation struck him hard, restoring some of his appreciation for life. Yet, feeling ashamed of his new “empowered human” status, he hides his aura from his brother and began to live in seclusion.
Current events found him drinking away his sorrows in a bar, a pleasant pastime interrupted by the Angel of Fate, Manu, who informed Raze that Origins, another angel and Raze’s creator, had taken over Raze’s fortress and had imprisoned his son, Neutralis Zero, a mysterious twelve-winged sun angel Raze had picked up and adopted as a son. Desperate not to lose the one person closest to him, Raze rushed to the fortress and fought against Oldest Angel Logos, tainting the angel and defeating him and then facing down Manu.
The battle against Manu went worse than the one with Logos, leaving Raze severely injured and blind. In a last attempt to save Neutralis, also critically injured, Raze called on the Lost Trinity, the Seals of Darkness, Oblivion, and Resurrection. This was to undo his foes completely while restoring everything else; Origins, however, being Raze’s creator, stopped this attack from completing itself. After informing Raze that Raze would always be his property, Origins and Manu vanished along with Neutralis, leaving Raze broken and the fortress in ruins.
Death would have followed soon after if Mahzian, another angel, had not appeared. He showed Raze how to see without eyes using aura-sight (mage-sight), and gave to him Illuminastra, the legendary Aeonblade of Transcendent Light. He told Raze that he might be able to save Neutralis if he acquired the sister Aeonblade of Transcendent Shadow, Pandamaare.
Raze is now on a quest to find this other sword, even though incredibly overpowered and outmatched. He has yet to discover what Origins plans to do with his son and what motivates Mahzian to help him, and how all this folds into a greater plot that will change his life forever.
Only one thing is for certain; Raze now holds life as his most cherished possession. It is the only thing he has left and the only thing that can help him.Fun Facts:
