| This is a fantasy style melee spar between myself and Echo. Setting is the 40 foot cube room, walls floor and ceiling made of hard, marble like rock. The room constricts every full round, decreasing in size by 5 feet in each dimension each round, to a minimum space of 10 feet cubed. Both men start out in the room, no explanation required as to how they got there, and combatants start out 20 feet from each other, with a wall 10 feet behind them. The room is brightly lit.
Rules are simple. No powers at all and all weapons abilities are completely voided in the room. Victory is acheieved by killing your opponent, knocking him unconcious, or by forfeit.
First post goes to Tanis. May the best fighter win.

| -The sandy blond youth stood; his body relaxed even for the on coming fight; a few thoughts passed in the mind of the youth. Those only small details too take note of the room they had been around in. Lights hung swaying in the room causing no darkness to be hidden in the room. Hmm; odd place to be fighting but all the same. Tilting his head; the soft lips opened for a yawn. This was slowly going to get boring but he would make the best of it.
Pulling the leather around his body a bit more; hazel orbs lashed out and gazed upon the other man. This was a melee fight no powers would be allowed in the room. It was going to give Tanis a test since he had not fought Melee in so long but it was by all means worth the wait of time he had taken. Grinning slightly; the youths fingers began to trail down white leather and down too the sword on his right side. Since he was left handed it would be easier too draw the blade. Hilt holding one foot; and the blade four feet giving the grand total of the sword five feet. On his left hip was the dagger. Two feet in blade length and 6 1/2 inches in the hilt. Giving a grand total of 2' 6 1/2. With the blades kriss blade it would be easier to slid it into the flesh of another.
With a slow movement his body relaxed; it was never good going into a fight with out relaxing first; not even one where you could be killed just by one little mistake.
"Lets get this show on the road no?"

| ((For the purposes of this spar, I am removing Zelis’s fractured sanity so that he may fight at his full skill level. If Tanis or a mod have issue with this, message me via PM or Yahoo.))
~Zelis watched as the man ran his fingers over the leather jacket which he wore, his hands coming to rest on the hilts of his weaponry. Zelis’s own hands moved down, into the folds of his cape and grasped the hilts of his daggers, drawing each into a backhand grip. It was slightly cliché, a dancer cloaked in dark battling a knight emblazoned in white. Zelis bent his knees slightly, spreading his feet to about shoulder width apart, and slid his right foot slightly forward. Bending slightly forward at the midriff, he brought his blades up to his chest level, angling the point of his right blade forward toward the paladin’s feet, the hilt about six inches from his chest, his elbow angling the same way The hilt of his left blade seemed almost connected to his right, its blade angling up toward the upper part of the wall behind him, his wrist bent slightly, leaving his left arm perpendicular to his body. His body was loose, fluid, and able to move easily.
“Indeed,” he said in a soft voice that seemed to echo extensively inside this room of stone. “Come, let us dance.”~

| -Those hazel orbs watched his foe began to move.Lets Dance and dance they shall. Zelis had moved to draw his blades; the gleaming light bouncing around the room in their glory. Tanis too; would show him the skill of his own. With drawing Sanctum from it's resting home that smile began to rise upon his lips. Sliding his right foot out; his weight shifted to rest on his left boot which was bending slightly; Tanis' torso began to move froward almost as if he was about to charge.
The twinkling blade; gave up the rainbow spectrum in the light and flashed about, Moving across his body from his his right to his left shoulder; the fine tipped blade gleamed once more; at the ever so slight tilt to bounce the light. With a soft smile he nodded once more to the man; Tanis was brought up to show respect for another in battle; this was no different. Letting his mind become clear as to objective he stood. Of course he would give Zelis the moment to attack. But would the man take it?

| ~Zelis’s dull grey eyes watched as the walls behind Tanis moved closer, and judging from the soft scraping sounds behind and above him, the wall behind him, the walls to each side of him, and the roof were constricting as well. Watching the man draw his rainbow colored blade, a small flicker of distaste appeared in the back of his mind.
Zelis stepped out with his right foot, shifting his weight from the ball of his left foot to the ball of his right, keeping his stance perfectly balanced, and angling his body slightly to keep his front angled directly at the man as he started to circle the man. The man wielded a long and short sword, for the lesser blade was much to big to be a dagger, and while the weapons would serve him well on the battlefield against 100 foes, against Zelis they would be cumbersome and slow.
In his mind, with each step, a tempo was building. Slow at first, it would become faster than the flicker of a humming birds wing within moments. The dance had begun, yet the steps had not begun. It was a thing of beauty, that moment before two beings fight, knowing that one will leave alive, and the other would fall into that eternal darkness dubbed death.~

| -Once more the hazel orbs sat in wait; he didn't have the insanity in them like Zelis. They remained as calm as his body had the entire time they conversed. Then all at once they exploded into a wide rage. Grinning; his body began to move. With the movement of the wall behind him he too moved with it. Zelis was slowly starting to walk around his body. Tanis wouldn't allow the other to get behind him. With his own movements; his feet began to cross. A dance of his own would began. Shifting his weight to each foot that crossed the other; his body always stayed in a pattern parse; keeping even with Zelis' movements.
Indeed he carried a long sword; but it was not as heavy or cumbersome as Zelis would think. The blade was light enough to hold in one hand with out hardly any thought; years of training taught Tanis on how to use the blade well. With a slender finger he trailed it down to the hilt of Oris; gripping he with drew his second blade. In a defenceive way a smile rose upon his lips. He was going to wait for Zelis to attack.

| Note: The room is now 30” cubed. Both combatants are close to the walls now due to their actions.
~In every dance, there is a rule. One must leader, and the others must follow. This is the way of things, and Tanis had elected to follow. The walls of the room had begun to move once more, tightening the area, drawing like a noose, tighter and tighter. Excellent.
Zelis was mildly surprised at the man’s change in personality, but it mattered not. Those with sanity die just as easily as those without. As the man began to mirror his movements, Zelis added a new dimension to the dance, as he angled his body slightly, changed his foot work only by a miniscule amount, transforming the circle around which they walked into a spiral, and if Tanis continued to mimic his movements, they would meet in the center of the room in due time.
As he shifted his gaited, his steely grey eyes closed, not worrying about his sight, for he had long ago learned to fight without them. If the man decided to break cycle and attack, he would find that Zelis’s body reacted instinctively. Inside his mind however, the bass rumble of a coming storm filled his mindscape. It would be a glorious sight.~

| (Yay it worked n.n)
-Those hazel orbs flashed for only a moment; it was odd to be in the room he was in. Though with a soft smile he enclosed on the form of Zelis; no longer following the same slow pattern that they had engaged in this little dance. Though he kept the circle motion his foot work sped up a bit. The gap was closed in no time at all; he had to think for a moment as the man closed his eyes.
He had something planed for Tanis no doubt about that. With a quick movement he went for a side sweep at Zelis' body. Making sure his weight was on the back foot he stepped in with the blade coming. No it wasn't meant to strike the other merely to make him think a bit quicker; Tanis wasn't going to just sit around. He wanted to get this over with and move on.

| Note: The room now constricts to 25ft cubed. Both fighters are assumed to be in the center of the room, within 5 feet of each other.
~Zelis heard the whistle of the blade through the air, his ears telling him from whence it came. Halting his circular movement, Zelis shifted his torso slightly, bringing his left dagger to his side, catching the blade near the hilt of Lumina. Sliding Lumina’s edge down the length of the bald, Zelis would halt the forward movement of his dagger about a foot and a half from the hilt of Tanis’s longsword. Before the sliding movement would stop, Zelis’s left foot would dart out, catching the man’s hand behind his knee. Pulling with his upper leg muscles, he would yank at the hilt of the sword, while pushing hard on the blade, toward Tanis's torso, attempting to slightly crush the man’s hand and disarm his right-handed weapon.
With the pull, Zelis would also lift his right foot from the floor, shoving his right knee at the left side of the man’s chin, letting the centripetal force of his movement pull his cape behind him, giving him at least some protection should the man attempt to counter his knee strike with his short sword. If the blow succeeded, it would be likely that Tanis would be knocked unconscious.~
