As for the speed limit thing, people who fear anal rape fear breaking the law. Either that, or part of them believes that by breaking the law, they will further unravel the fabric of our society and therefore we will all be thrown into anarchy. Not the most reasonable approach, but then again, human beings aren't reasonable.

As for the wings and fly idea, storms would be a bitch. Personal teleportation would work better, though I do have to admit, having wings would be really, really cool. Mine would be grey, since that is my favorite color. And yes, I know having grey as a favorite color is kinda off kilter, but meh. Life is boring if you are normal.

True, storms would be a pain, but you could turn it into a dangerous game. Dodge the lightning, or if you are darker than that, lightning tag. It would be a great way to cut down on the population as well. And there is no shame in grey. Mine would be a mix of black and white. That way when I fly, I could be like the flying chess board. Or something like that.

If you are talking about the dematerializing (I know, I probably spelt that wrong) technique....what happens if little particles are lost in the actions?

Imagine it.

You want to go to Hawaii, so you turn into tiny particles. During your travel, some of the particles get sucked into the wrong airstream. So, most of you appears in Hawaii....but you nose is in China.

That would be horrible. The Chinese might eat your nose!
